Notice of Nondiscrimination for Second Day

Second Day is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community, including our staff, Fellows, partners, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Second Day does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

We are committed to providing an environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex and prohibits sexual harassment, including sexual violence. This commitment extends to our educational programs, employment, and activities.

1. Scope of Nondiscrimination Policy

This policy applies to all areas of employment including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, benefits, transfers, and social and recreational programs. It also applies to the administration of Second Day’s educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other programs administered by Second Day.

2. Implementation

Second Day will:

  • Implement policies and procedures that prevent and address discrimination and harassment.

  • Provide training to staff and volunteers on nondiscrimination and preventing harassment.

  • Respond promptly and effectively to allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

  • Provide a fair and impartial process for investigation and resolution of complaints.

3. Complaint Procedure

Individuals who believe they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment in violation of this policy are encouraged to report the incident to Second Day’s administration. Second Day will promptly investigate all allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation and take appropriate corrective action, including disciplinary measures, if warranted.

4. Retaliation

Retaliation against individuals who file a complaint or participate in the investigation of a complaint is prohibited and will not be tolerated. Second Day will take steps to prevent retaliation and will take strong responsive action if retaliation occurs.

6. Changes to the Notice
