Our first campus outreach program will target Georgetown University. By graduation 2020, we want to meaningfully impact the number of Georgetown students who pursue social impact careers. You will be our eyes and ears on Georgetown’s campus--helping us target our messaging, strategy, and product to effectively reach your peers.

ASAP through summer 2019. Possibility to extend through fall semester.

About the Job

The Account Manager: Georgetown is the team member who is an expert on the Georgetown student experience. Embedded in the needs, wants, and struggles of this user group, the Account Manager directs strategy to best serve his/her users. Reporting to the Head of Community Outreach, the Account Manager: Georgetown, will work with the Community Outreach Team to promote Second Day to as wide an audience as possible.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Familiarization with Georgetown student experience

    • Research on Georgetown students looking for social impact jobs

    • Surveys, interviews, and hands-on research

  • Serving as spokesperson for Georgetown students to the Second Day team

    • You are the person that everyone at Second Day will turn to with questions about the Georgetown experience. You’re an expert, and the rest of us will need your advice.

  • Developing outreach strategy

    • Working with the Outreach Team to design an outreach strategy that directly targets Georgetown students

  • Executing outreach strategy

    • Working with the Outreach Team and wider organization to execute on the Georgetown student outreach strategy. From email campaigns to event attendance to career fair booths, you know how to reach college students and have the creativity to get us there.

What We Need

We are looking for an Account Manager who is:

  • Currently enrolled at Georgetown University

  • Outgoing--you’re energized by meeting people and making connections

  • Deeply knowledgeable about our “college student” user--someone looking for a career in social impact

  • Familiar with the Second Day brand/voice/vision

  • Comfortable working independently

  • Strong communicator

  • Creative problem solver

  • Experience in marketing or community development a plus

What’s a Plus

Extra credit for:

  • Graduate-level students (MBA, MA, MSFS, etc.) — if you are a graduate student, this role would involve managing a team of interns, more independence, and a pivotal role in defining the growth strategy of Second Day

  • Experience working in social impact, searching for social impact jobs, and/or a social impact professional network
